Festivals are the time when everyone can forget their worries and cherish life all over again with their friends and family; however this pandemic has completely changed the way we used to celebrate our festival traditionally. But human zeal is immortal and we have celebrated with as much exuberance as we could.

This time there were not many gatherings our with friends and family. We could not celebrate like we used to because to covid-19 but many people celebrated festivals in a simple manner at home.  Nonetheless there is is a huge financial hit on venders and poor people due to the fact the usually overcrowded markets have  hardly witnessed  any customers which led to a huge financial hit in sales.

 But we have to follow government guidelines and covid-19 protocols and there is always light at the end of every dark tunnel no matter how dark it is ,we will soon overcome this pandemic  and get back to our normal life.

The lurching roads of life lead to divine places

“Hard times are best teachers” this proverb is rightly said in the Novel Little Women. The most impenetrable challenges that we face in life always give the finest results to us. Sometimes when we think that the task given to us is insurmountable that is when we get to know the merit hidden within us.

Usually at home whenever I tried to draw or paint, it would never turn out as I had thought it would. I never even tried drawing. I hated it. But in the lockdown I was very bored I wanted to something creative. So I started drawing. And that is when I got to know that if I would just give a try I could draw pulchritudinous drawings. As you know “Necessity is the mother of creation”. Only when I had nothing to do I started practicing drawing. And that is when I got to know this quality within me.  

So from this I learnt that we should always have a never give up attitude and we should give it our best even if someone tries to put us down and never give up what we love  even if someone does not give us credit. So my advice to all of you is keep doing what you love even if someone does not like your work.

This book is based on a 14 year old girl named VIVA who comes to visit her grandmother (called gram in the book) in New Orleans every year with her mother, but this time she  came alone .She had already assumed that she had boring summer holidays ahead of her ,without her mom. But when gram reads a newspaper article about a man who claims that his ancestors have lost their ancestral treasure and it is somewhat related to the poem  Miss Mary Mack. VIVA traverses the city on an adventure to solve the mystery, without gram knowing. Along the way she meets some of the cities most flamboyant and vibrant characters as her journey takes her to French quarter a creepy cemetery and even the circus. Can viva rise to solve this mystery?  Will she find the treasure? Will gram ever know? How will she return the treasure to its owner ? Well you have to listen to find out.

This audio book is awesome, it has lots of twists and turns in the storyline and the plot is very unpredictable. The description of New Orleans is very vivid. I really think that everyone would relish this book as it  has a lot of suspense and adventure and also hard to stop listening

Today I will do a book review on another famous book that is 3 Men in a Boat

Genre: Funny part Serious

This is a travelogue mainly based on 3 friends J, Harris and George.  One seemingly ordinary evening ,while all of them were in J’s room felling seedy (it means somewhat ill or prone to illness)

All them were discussing how stressed they were these day and had to relax and all of them decided to go on a trip and after alot discussion they agreed to go on a boat trip. They all packed their stuff. And were ready to go on their trip  

 It was about a 2 week boat ride .They set on their journey not knowing the hurdles that would follow them on this jaunt. From the weather that is completely unreliable from the from the pineapple cans that refuse to open from the tow that has a mind of their own to the mysterious disappearance of Harris. Even  with all of these hurdles will they still enjoy their trip. You better read to find out.

I would like to recommend this book to others because it is a completely prodigious book and has a wide range of vocabulary and it is has also been awarded the #2 in the 50  most funniest books ever written. If you like this book you can also read the sequel Three Men on the Bummel.

 The protagonist of this book is a girl called Alice. One a very ordinary afternoon when she was sitting in a garden beside her sister . Suddenly she saw something peculiar, a talking rabbit hurrying across the garden, she was astonished and  decided to follow him. While following it, the  rabbit suddenly jumps into a hole.  Without thinking she follows him and falls into a very long tunnel  and  the whole leads to a whole new world.  And  In this land she meets all sorts of weird people like the queen of cards who invites her for a game which if she does not win her head will be cut off and a talking tea cup and a mad cat. To increase her trouble she finds potions that make her change sizes and shapes. After reading this book review there might be some questions in your mind does she ever come out of that world does she win the game with the queen was her head cut of , you better   read this book to find out

I would like to recommend this book to other because I think it is a very nice book and hard to stop reading and this book with comedy and adventure. In a nutshell this book is just fabulous      might have all heard about that is Alice in the wonderland

Who is a friend? according to the dictionary a friend is a person with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, but according to me friends are the colours of life, without friends life is boring and simple.

 But nowadays people make friends for their benefit. Friendship is not to shake hands and say we are now friends it should come from the heart. Real friends are those who not only celebrate our success with us but also stand with us in our sorrow. Not laugh at our problems and don't envy our happiness. There is no relationship as special as the one that friends share. Friends have many secrets but don't have secrets between them. People who make friends for their benefit should understand that you can lose a friend easily but to finding a good friend takes years. I think ,one friend that I can trust is better than a thousand that lie to me. I am very lucky that I have such a friend. I hope now you understand that friendship is not just a word it's a feeling. So cherish your friends .

Rock Painting

I love Rock painting !!! 

It's so fun painting boring old rocks into something stunning and fascinating. I am not talking about bricks or marble tiles. these are round oval or can be in any other shape they can be found in forests or gardens or parks.There not that hard to find.In this blog I will give you some tips on how to paint rocks.

• wash the rock properly before you start painting
• after that first decide what you want to paint .
• then if you like you can mark with a pencil and if you want to mark something on a dark background use a white or yellow colour pencil
•  don't rush to paint your rock, be patient   
• paint the rock in white colour and wait for it to dry completely this will make the color on the rock look better.
• If you have trouble in drawing first practice drawing your figure on a sheet of paper so you don't ruin your rock
• there is no compulsion that you need to have some design on the rock you can even write a slogan after painting the background.

so that's all, now you can start painting your rocks and then you can place then as your home decor or in your garden beside your plants.

Leisure Time Is Very Important !!!

According to me, leisure time is very important for a child or an adult to rejuvenate themselves and refresh their mind. In your free time or leisure time, you can do whatever you like. For example, I have a lot of interest in art and craft, so whenever I get time I draw or paint.  I think a child has to get some free time in a day because studying all the time becomes very tedious and monotonous. Now that many schools have also started online classes they have given us more load because we children are already stuck at  our homes doing nothing and then our schools have started the online classes so that we study and get bored even more. Children are really burning the midnight oil because first we attend our classes and then do the homework. So, calling it a day is very important during this lockdown.  Whenever I am bored or exasperated,I take a break and reinvigorate myself by drinking some water and eating some snacks. This helps me revive my energy and activeness. When I am done eating, I practice my hobbies which are art and craft. So, I watch some videos on YouTube and then I follow the tips and tricks given in the videos. Everybody has a hobby and everybody enjoys relaxing in their free time. Therefore, this is the best time to practice your hobby so you can look back upon how you utilized your time during the lock down

My Nightmare - a short hilarious story

My Nightmare

I had just finished my breakfast and was going to keep my plate in the kitchen. After that I went to the bedroom where my mom was sitting to tell her that I had finished my breakfast and was going to pack my bag for school. But I said something in baby language instead, my mother was totally Greek to me, I tried hard but just could not speak Hindi soon I realized that I had forgotten my mother tongue completely and was speaking in a language I never knew before. Just then my mother reminded me today I had my English oral test. I got really worried , how was supposed to speak in class !! I got ready for school and boarded my bus. But even in the bus I was speaking as clear as mud. I got anxious, but somehow I calmed myself and entered my class and the teacher was sitting in front of me. I kept my bag on the table and that very moment the teacher called me to speak. I could sense that she was not happy with me because I was exactly 5 minutes late to class. I was nervous and sweating, I started to speak but to my horror I was still speaking in baby language. I stood quietly. I couldn't think of excuses and even if I got one how would I explain it to my teacher. My teacher opened her mouth to scold me but somehow her voice sounded like an alarm clock. Suddenly I woke up from my bed. I realized that it was a dream. I tried to speak in Hindi. Hurrah !!! I hope that something like this never happens to me in real life.

How to make a farmhouse pizza at home.

These days all the restaurants are all closed; you know why because of the lockdown  . So I'll tell you step by step how to make a appetizing and healthy pizza.

Ingredients: Yeast,oil,all purpose flour,vegetables(of your choice), lukewarm water, sugar, pizza sauce,salt

METHOD:
Stage 1: How to make the pizza base.

• Take some yeast, sugar, and lukewarm water. Mix them in a bowl and keep them aside.
• Put some all purpose flour in a bowl, put some salt (as per your taste), some oil and mix it with your fingers.
• After this, add your mixture of yeast and sugar in the bowl.
• Slowly mix all these ingredients with some more lukewarm water.
• Keep mixing the ingredients until they form a thick dough. 
• Take the dough out of the bowl and keep rolling it until it stops sticking to your hand.
• You can also apply some oil on your hand if you want.
• Now before putting the dough in the bowl, apply some oil on the surface and sides of the bowl, then apply some oil on the dough and wrap the the dough in a damp muslin cloth. 
• Keep it aside for 2 hours.
• Now when you take the dough it will be double in size. 

YOUR BASE IS READY!!

Stage 2: How to make the pizza.

• Now you need to cut the vegetables you want decorate the pizza with them.(adult supervision required.) 
• Now cut the dough into 3 pieces.(adult supervision required.) 
• Roll them with a rolling pin.
• Apply some pizza sauce on the base. 
• Then top it with some vegetables you cut before.
• And then apply some mozzarella cheese on the pizza.
• Keep the pizza on a grill ,keep it in the microwave, set the microwave on pizza mode and allow it to bake.(adult supervision required.) 
• Do the same with the other 2 bases as well.
• You can also make a cheese pizza , just don't add the vegetables and follow the same process for the base  and the pizza.

Your pizza is ready!!

Lock down - A boon in disguise for me !!!

Every black cloud has a silver lining

This proverb written by John Miton is so true, for example, everyone thinks that this lockdown is a curse, but for me  this lockdown is a blessing. Look at the surroundings: so fresh and sparkling. The birds are seen chirping in the morning, there is no pollution outside, the sky is clear and at night the moon is pure white; basically nature is spreading its beauty everywhere .

Government has imposed this lock down to keep us safe from COVID-19. As the current  situation of the world outside is very dangerous, so all of us should stay inside and help the government control this situation and save lives of thousands of people who are afflicted by this virus and all the people in the world. The government could   also extend this lockdown due to the  increasing cases of COVID-19 through out the world.

All the doctors, scientists and epidemiologists are working day and night to find an antidote or vaccine for this widespread virus. So I have only one request to you all !! Please stay at  your homes  for the next few days and help everyone fight COVID-19 and get back a normal life again.

FUN ART AND CRAFT IDEAS

These days all the kids are cached in their homes fatigued watching T.V and mobiles all daylong, so I have brought for you some pieces of art and craft you can make while spending your time enjoying the pieces of art you make.

1.  If you are a beginner, you can start with some simple drawings with pencil like the one on the right. Or, if this is too simple you can start with some complex sketches.

2. I like origami !! How you keep folding the paper and it turns out to be something amazing.

Here I will share with you how to make an

origami balloon:

1. Fold the paper in half downwards to make a rectangle.

2. Fold in half again.

3.Open the front half of the paper,  

swinging the flap out and folding it down to create a triangle

4.Flip over and repeat step 3 for the other side.

5.Fold the corners up to meet at the tip.

6.Fold the corners in to meet at the center.

7.Now fold the top corners down to form small flaps.

8.Insert these flaps into the pockets you created in step 6

9.Flip over and repeat steps 5 through 8 for the other side

10.Gently blow air into the small hole at the bottom of the figure

11.Once it inflates, you should have your paper balloon!!!

3.I just love painting!! Maybe you do, so start painting your 
masterpiece right now.

Dip your paintbrush in paint and let your thoughts flow, draw

whatever you want.

You can draw something social or a scenery or just anything you like.

4.Last but not least I'll tell you how to make your card from normal to special.
 
1. You can try adding some pearls or beads.

2.You can paste some pictures with the person you are making the card for.

3. You can add some flowers or stars.  
4.Finally you can write 
happy birthday or whatever 
the occasion is.
